Pulmuone Closes Purchase Agreement with Vitasoy USA

Pulmuone Foods Co., Ltd. today announced it has completed the acquisition of substantially all of the assets of Vitasoy USA Inc., which includes the NASOYA®, AZUMAYA® and SAN SUI® brands in North America. This acquisition solidifies Pulmuone’s position as the world’s leading tofu company while strengthening its operations in South Korea, U.S., Japan and China. Pulmuone had previously announced it had entered into an asset purchase agreement to acquire Vitasoy USA Inc. on March 24, 2016.

Pulmuone Food’s Media Event Featuring Wildwood Products

Pulmuone is a very well-known brand in Korea– up there with other giant food brands. From the start, Pulmuone differentiated themselves in Korea as being the healthier (and better) alternative. I’ve tried a large number of offerings from their product lineup, and I’m almost completely faithful to their tofu; if given a choice, I’ll always pick Pulmuone Tofu when I cook.

Pulmuone Wildwood Cooking Demonstration – Fullerton, California

Pulmuone is a household name in Asia, but the company is a newer addition to the US food market. Pulmuone Wildwood USA is based in Orange County, California and I recently had the pleasure of attending a meet and greet and cooking demonstration in their test kitchen in Fullerton. Their product lines include Wildwood, Monterey Gourmet Foods and FitPatties. There are easy to follow preparation instructions on the packages, so you can heat and serve or get creative and use them in other recipes.

Pulmuone Foods USA, bigger than you think

I have to admit that I was unfamiliar with Pulmuone until I was contacted by their PR. I was hired to attend their event and photograph the dishes that would be created that night. Little did I know Pulmuone was about to surprise me with the food and company as the night progressed. couple of weeks later while shopping at H Mart, Wendy and realized we have bought many of Pulmuone’s products. We just never realized who the manufacturer was. :)
